//Why I Love Me Tag//

The amazing Thoughtful Tash created this tag so us bloggers cna spend a bit of time appreciating what we love about ouorselves. I think this is such a wonderful idea, becuase self-love is something we all need to do more of and actually sittig down and thinking about what I do love about myself instead of dwelling on my flaws has actually been really beneficial to me, and I’m sure it will help others too. So. thank you very much to tash for making this tag, and you can read her post introducing it here.

THE RULES (as stated in Tash’s post)

  • Post the award on your blog
  • Acknowledge the blogger who nominated you
  • Leave a link to the original tag creator (ThoughtfulTash) to get a bit more info about WHY this tag has been made!
  • Write 10 things you love about YOURSELF and WHY
  • Nominate at least 5 other bloggers
  • In the comments of the blog post, spread more self-love with compliments to each other! THE MORE LOVE THE BETTER!

Why I love me:

1. My love of life

One thing I love about myslef is how much I love life, it’s the main thing that gets me through hard times becuase I know I’ve got my whole life ahead of me and it doesn’t matter if I’m struggling now because I will get through it and one day I can look back on what I’ve been through and be proud of reaching my goals and fulfilling my ambitions regardless. Also remembering and thinking of all the good times makes me realise how much I do love my life and how  iwouldn’t have it any other way.

2. My passions

My passions are part of me and always will be, they are the one thing that stays the same as I grow and change as a person and I’m really glad to have these passions like blogging and photography and politics and reading etc that make me happy and make me who I am.

3. My creativity

I love the fact that although I haven’t chosen a creative educational path, I still keep up with the creative things that I’ve always loved like painting and sketching and that although I don’t want a creative career, I haven’t closed that part of my life off.

4. My optimism

Although I don’t regard myself to be a constantly optimistic person, I do have a lot of optimism for the future and that helps to motivate me to keep working hard to get where I want to be.

5. My personality

Most people would think of me as quite an introverted person, which is true, but that doesn’t mean I don’t have a personality! I love the fact that I’m quite introverted actually, as it means less people get to know the real me and when they do it makes the friendship more special. I love the fact though that I can be myself around my family because we’re all a bit mad!

6. My way of thinking

Another thing I love is the way I think. I think we all have our own unique way of thinking about things and I find it fascinating the way we all percieve things differently. I love how I can read about something or see something and my brain will make all these millions of connections ot different things, or I’ll suddenly be inspired to do something. Although I don’t like overthinking so much, it’s still a part of me and I’m growing to love the fact that I only overthink because I care so much about other people.

7. My height

I’ve always felt a bit awkward being so tall – I think I’m currently about 5 ft 8″, which isn’t huge but I’m still very tall compared to most of my friends – but as I’ve got older I’ve grown to love my height becuase again it’s just a part of me that I can’t control and if I can’t change it, I’ve gotta embrace it.

8. My love for the world

I honestly find the world so fascinating and just want to constantly learn about the people that live around the world and all the different countries and EVERYTHING!!!! I’m so interested in how we all live in the same world but there is so much variation between different cultures and countries, and I love the fact that I’m not just invested in my own life and ‘world’ and want to know about others.

9. My music taste

This is a bit random??? But honestly I love my taste in music because it varies so much! I can go from listening to 80s music, to French electro, to pop, to rock, to indie – I’m just interested in so many different styles of music and I love it!

10. My drive to learn

I sort of mentioned this before, but I just really want to be learning all the time. SOmetimes doing homework or revision isn’t even tiring and monotonous because I want to do it so I can learn, and I love that I love learning as it definitely helps to motivate me to study and work hard.

So there’s the 10 things that I love about me. I’m going to nominate some bloggers below so they too can explore what they love about themselves. 🙂

//The Amsterdam Book Tag//

The awesome Michelle from The Writing Hufflepuff created The Amsterdam Book Tag and, although I am not a book blogger myself, I do love to read books so was excited to take part!

Why Do We Have So Many Cheese Stores In One Street: A Cheesy Read.

Although I don’t tend to pick up a book that I think will be cheesy (okay I love cheese but cheesy books aren’t really my thing (anymore)), I admit I did read the Gallagher Girls series a few years ago and found that to be quite cheesy (especially the romance) – I think I only read the first four books which I enjoyed at the time but it’s not something I’d read now.

Canal Parade: A Book That Celebrates The LGBT Community.

Okay so I haven’t *technically* read any books specifically with an LGBT theme which I REALLY. NEED. TO. CHANGE. But if you read my post about discovering sexuality a few months ago, you’ll know that (argh I don’t know what I’m trying to say/how to word it) basically I haven’t been interested in (?)/ involved with sexuality and the LGBT community for an overly long time so haven’t had the chance to explore the world of LGBT in fiction (but I definitely want to so if anyone has any recommendations I’d be grateful)! However whilst doing some research earlier I discovered that Albus Dumbledore was gay and fell in love with Gellert Grindelwald (I feel like a bad Potterhead for not spotting this whilst reading the books) so although that is a tenuous link, I’ll have to go with the Harry Potter Series for now. 🙂

Anne Frank House: A Book That Made You Cry.

I have to say I don’t think I’ve ever full-on cried whilst reading a book (although there have been times where I’ve been VERY CLOSE to crying *cough cough* CURSED CHILD!!) but I’ve definitely cried internally a lot of times whilst reading. I’m going to have to go with The Book Thief because there is just a whole lot of sadness in that book (it is still one of my favourite books though so don’t let he sadness put you off).

Red White Blue: Recreate The Dutch Flag Using Books.

img_20160814_170951.jpg

The stripes are different thicknesses but I love all three of these books so wanted to use them!

Museum Square: An Artsy Book.

20160725_172310.jpg
I even took an artsy photo of the book to make it even more eligible for this category (ok I took this for another blog post but still)

I haven’t read any fictional artsy books (at least I don’t think I have *glares at bookcase to try to find an artsy book* – my memory is really bad when it comes to books and remembering things) so I’ll go with LEGO Harry Potter: Building The Magical World. It’s basically a timeline of the development of LEGO Harry Potter and also explains how they come up with the designs for the LEGO sets and ‘build the magical world’, as well as how they made the video games so it’s kind of artsy, right?

Pigeons, Pigeons Everywhere: An Annoying Character.

I have to say there is probably at least one character in every book I’ve read that annoys me – which I suppose is a sign of good writing on the authors part as they can portray there characters in a way that makes the readers dislike them, which is probably harder than it is to get readers to like characters. I’m going to go with Ender’s Game though as I didn’t feel as if I could connect to any of the characters really and just found most of them relatively annoying.

I’m tagging:

Kira, ZinebElly and Janet. 🙂

//Talk Music To Me Tag: REVEALED//

So a few days ago I did the Talk Music To Me Tag which the awesome L nominated me for. As I said it’s been a few days so I thought now would be a good time to reveal which songs I used!

In total I used 34 different songs (unless I counted wrong which is highly likely).

I tried to include a variety of different artists and bands but because there were SO MANY different artists that I listen to, my mind decided to go blank and I completely forgot about a few (ironic right?) so sorry Douwe Bob and Eliza and the Bear!

You have always worn your flaws upon your sleeve and I have always buried them deep – Flaws, Bastille.

think now’s the time to let it slide – Let It Go, James Bay.

Why should we care for what they’re selling us anyway? – Listen To The Man, George Ezra.

it’s a different kind of danger and my feet are spinning around – Delilah, Florence + The Machine.

but this is your heart, can you feel it? – Laura Palmer, Bastille.

When we were youngsters – Flashed Junk Mind, Milky Chance.

we rode our bikes into the sky. Now we walk against the tide – Hold Back The River, James Bay.

(but) lady, running down to the riptide – Riptide, Vance Joy.

these are the things we lost in the fire, fire, fire – Thing We Lost In The Fire, Bastille.

In eyes not yet created it – Poet, Bastille.

those distant days go flashing by – Hold Back The River, James Bay.

Nothing seems as pretty as the past though – Fluorescent Adolescent, Arctic Monkeys.

I’m waiting ever so patiently for you to snap. Out. Of. It. – Snap Out Of It, Arctic Monkeys.

Christ, I ain’t ever going back to thinking straight… – Twice, Catfish and the Bottlemen.

I don’t think things through – I never get time – 7, Catfish and the Bottlemen.

(but) you got a look in your eyes – Avalanche, WALK THE MOON.

And this is how it starts – Sex, The 1975.

I can feel the draw, I can feel it pulling me back. – The Draw, Bastille.

She’s the tear in my heart – Tear In My Heart, twenty one pilots.

oh, oh, I’m falling. – Ride, twenty one pilots.

Do you know what your doing, doing to me? – Ruby, Kaiser Chiefs.

Been in the dark for weeks and I’ve realised you’re all I need – Need The Sun To Break, James Bay.

I couldn’t get away, if I wanted to, my hands are tied, tied to you. And I don’t mind – Get Away, Circa Waves.

there’s a million combinations and this is one – Listen To Your Head, Kaiser Chiefs.

We’re just different colours – we carry eachother. – Different Colours, WALK THE MOON.

Forget the time because I’m seven hours behind – 7, Catfish and the Bottlemen.

I’ll come around if you ever want to be in love. – If You Ever Want To Be In Love, James Bay.

Anything you need, anytime at all, I want you to call me. – Anything, Catfish and the Bottlemen.

We’ll be talking about your background and how it never left you much – Soundcheck, Catfish and the Bottlemen.

so get out, get out while you still can…and get out while you still can. The world is wide from where you stand – Get Out While You Can, James Bay.

Find a thing that you love, find a thing you understand – My Kind Of Man, Vance Joy.

because you grew up in a small town so you’ll appreciate it more. – Soundcheck, Catfish and the Bottlemen.

So why, why do you go wasting your time on me? – Wasted Time, Vance Joy.

Did you recognise any of these songs? Do you like any of these bands/artists? Let me know in the comments! 🙂

//Talk Music To Me Tag//

The awesome L nominated me for the Talk Music To Me Tag yesterday and I’d like to thank him a lot because I really enjoyed doing it and I actually feel like I’ve done something productive today now.

Rules:

  • Thank the person that tagged you (cause that’s a nice thing to do!).
  • Write a message that is either meaningful, story-like, funny or just random by only using song lyrics. Try to use as many different song as you possibly can!
  • Let your readers try and guess how many songs (and maybe even which ones) you’ve used.
  • Tag a couple of awesome people.

Okay so this turned out to be a lot bit deeper than I was planning – I guess I must just listen to a lot of music with deep, meaningful lyrics and this is the result! It kind of ended up as a weird, nonsensical message to my crush/any possible future crush (?) and about how it feels to have a crush and find out they like you back (not that that’s happened to me but sssh I can dream)! I didn’t plan to write this, I guess because crushes are something I’m thinking about a lot lately so I was sort of just drawn to these lyrics. Anyway, here it is!

You have always worn your flaws upon your sleeve and I have always buried them deep, think now’s the time to let it slide. Why should we care for what they’re selling us anyway? I was scared of dentists and the dark, stuck in a puddle full of tears and unwise, I was scared of pretty girls and starting conversations. Oh I just had a change of heart.

In eyes not yet created it, those distant days go flashing by. Nothing seems as pretty as the past though – I’m waiting ever so patiently for you to snap. Out. Of. It.

Christ, I ain’t ever going back to thinking straight…

I don’t think things through – I never get time but you got a look in your eyes. And this is how it starts – I can feel the draw, I can feel it pulling me back. She’s the tear in my heart – oh, oh, I’m falling. Do you know what your doing, doing to me?

The world is wide from where you stand because you grew up in a small town so you’ll appreciate it more. So why, why do you go wasting your time on me?

So, as it says in the rules, feel free to guess which songs/artists I used and how many different songs I included. I’ll reveal which songs I used in a few days time. 🙂

Nominations:

I think this is a really awesome tag so I hope you’ll have as much fun doing it as I did. 🙂

//The Five Senses Tag//

The awesome Dani from Life of Teen Girls created a tag – the five senses tag (incase you couldn’t tell from the title). I think this tag looks really cool and I can’t wait to give it a go so thank you Dani for making this and nominating me!

Rules:
– Thank the person who nominated you
– For each of the five senses (or as many as you do) describe five of your favorite things having to do with that sense. AKA your five favorite smells, sounds, etc.
– Nominate five other people to do this tag

Sight:

  • Rolling waves that sparkle in the sunlight.
  • Sunsets – I am addicted to sunsets, just look at my Instagram for proof!! (@em_is_lost99)
  • Patterns. Not any inparticular, I just really like patterned things.
  • New books that haven’t been opened.
  • Watercolour paintings because they look so beautiful and remind me of the sea/water.

Sounds:

  • Liquid sounds – words with ‘l’ sounds in them like lollipop and illustrous (if that’s how you spell it).
  • Sea crashing on rocks or sand.
  • The sound of acoustic guitars because it sounds so natural and pure.
  • Birdsong in the morning (just not too early, I need my sleep!)
  • The motorway – I find it really soothing for some reason.

Smells:

  • New books (I just like book, ok?)
  • Freshly baked bread.
  • Sun cream (don’t ask).
  • Campfires.
  • Mango and papaya.

Tastes:

  • Chocolate – obviously.
  • Apple pie.
  • Cornish pasties.
  •  Anything with pastry.
  • Peaches.

Things to feel:

  • Sand at the beach.
  • Feathers.
  • Smooth notebooks.
  • Computer keyboards – I don’t know why, I just like the feel of the keys.
  • Grass.

So that’s the end of the Five Senses Tag (booooo) but I do get to tag five awesome people to try it out themselves!!

I’m nominating:

Tea lover Jess

Sophie Samantha

Diversion 3000

Just A Blank Space

Happy Alex

Hope you enjoy it as much as I did! 🙂

//Playlist shuffle tag//

image
The lovely Michelle nomimated me to do this tag. With my old blog I used to be a bit lazy with tags and kind of forgot about them until they all piled up and I felt like a bad human for not doing them and wasting the time of whoever took the time to link to my blog (which I find very stressful as I always seem to get people urls wrong). But today, I thought why not? This tag is a little different to the more popular/common ones AND I am trying to relax more at the moment so listening to music will hopefully help me do that. 🙂

So, here are the rules:
Put your music on shuffle and list the first 15 songs to play (no cheating) then tag 10 others to do it as well.

To make it a bit different, I’ve decided to write a bit about each song too but you don’t have to do this if you don’t want to.

Here are my songs! (Apologies if they all turn out to be by the same artist, my phone is pretty terrible at shuffling sometimes):
Iscariot, Walk the Moon.
LOVE, LOVE, LOVE THIS SONG!! It is so slow compared to their other music but it has so much emotion and meaning and just GAHHHH I LOVE IT.
Bad Blood, Bastille.
I feel like a bad Bastille fan because I always think of Taylor Swift whenever I see Bad Blood come up on my playlist. But anyway, it’s a great, powerful song and probably one of the first I listened to by them.
Shiver Shiver, Walk the Moon.
It’s upbeat and catchy and pretty damn cool (along with all their other songs).
Little Shocks, Kaiser Chiefs.
I LOVE THIS. Seriously, it is really good and I love the beats and guitar riffs. I love how the song has a sort of tense atmosphere about it too.
Roses, Kaiser Chiefs.
Ugh…I am gonna hate myself for saying this, but I don’t really like this song. I don’t know what it is about it…maybe because it’s slower and downbeat than their other songs…idk. The lyrics are quite meaningful though which is nice.
Icarus, Bastille.
I always find myself randomly singing this song, it always gets stuck in my head!! That can only be a good thing though because the song is amazing!
Misery Company, Kaiser Chiefs.
THIS is awesome. Really, even with the slightly creepy laughing in the middle. It’s really rocky too (in my opinion, I don’t listen to heavy rock so correct me if I’m wrong).
Bows & Arrows, Kaiser Chiefs. Again this is awesone too. It’sreally upbeat and rocky and catchy and…yeah I love the lyrics too!
Weight of Living Pt. 2, Bastille.
I love this so damn much…the lyrics…the tune…everything.
Best Fake Smile, James Bay.
Finally a different artist!! I find this song really relatable, especially the lyric ‘nobody needs a best fake friend’. Also I love this more rocky side of James Bay’s music.
Get Out While You Can, James Bay. This is my absolute favourite James Bay song. I love playing it on guitar too because it sounss really good on guitar (well duh…he plays it on the guitar). It’s really inspirational and motivational – if you’re feeling a bit stressed or upset, I recommend listening to it.
Things We Lost in the Fire, Bastille. Again this is probably.one of the first songs I heard from Bastille so naturally I am in love with it (or else why would I have listened to their other music?).
You Can Have It All, Kaiser Chiefs. Also VERY relatable and…deep. It’s different to some of the other Kaiser Chiefs songs like Bows & Arrows and Misery Company – I mean, it’s slower but it is still upbeat if that makes sense.
Fixin’, Walk the Moon.
Another slow Walk the Moon song. Amen. You can really appreciate the beauty of their voices in this.
What Would You Do, Bastille. I really like this song, it really makes you think and evaluate yourself plus it has a good rythm.

So that’s my 15 “shuffled” songs – as I said earlier, my phone has a bit of trouble shuffling the 110-ish songs on it so unfortuantely I didn’t get to listen to any Vance Joy, Milky Chance or The Kooks :(.

I don’t have time to nominate anyone right now, so if anyone wants to do the tag, go ahead!

Hope I’ve given you some new songs to listen to!

Bye. 🙂
